the height of the road at one end is 18 feet higher than the height of the road at the other end.
the slope is the change in he height divided by the change in the length.
that would be 18 / 360 = .05
the slope is .05.
this means that for every change in the length of the road, the height changes .05 times that.
if the change in the length in the road is 360 feet, then the change in the height of the road is .05 * 360 = 18.
