Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
accountant A can balance books twice as fast as accountant B. Together it takes 6 hours to complete a job. How long would it take A to complete the job alone?
Let time of B be "2x" hrs.
Then time of A is "x" hrs.
EQUATION:
x+2x=6
3x=6
x=2 hrs (time for A to do the job)
2x=4 hrs (time for B to do the job)

Stan H.
