Brown is four years more than twice the age of Smith. In sixteen years Brown will be 3 times as old as Smith is now. What are the ages of Smith and Brown?

A bookkeeper saves 1/10th of his weekly salary, or 1$ more than the salesman saves. The salesman's salary is 5 dollars a week more than the bookkeepers. The salesman only saves 1/13th of his salary. How much does each earn, and how much does each save?
Sum of three numbers is 55. The first is 8-2x (eight minus 2 times) the second number. The second number is 1+3x (one plus 3 times) the third number. What are the numbers?

B+16 = 3S

S = 20

2nd = 3x + 1
1st = 8 - 2(3x+1) = 6 - 6x
