Question 346881: An airliner flying with the wind takes 3.5 hours to fly 1,875 miles and 4 hours to fly the same distance against the wind. Assuming that the airliner travels at a constant speed and the wind blows at a constant rate, find the speed of the airliner in still air and the wind speed. Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
 a + w = 1875/3.5
a - w = 1875/4
add the equations to find the speed of the airliner , then substitute to find the wind speed
