The function y = -1379.4x + 150,604 represents the U.S. railroad miles, while the function y = 478.4x + 157,838 modles the number of U.S. highway miles, where x is the number of years of 1995.
Find the year in which it is estimated that the number of U.S. Railroad miles and the number of U.S. highway miles were the same.

Hint: Set the two right sides of the equations equal to one another to get . Now solve for 'x' to find the number of years since 1995 where the two will be equal.
