Question 331004: Hell,
This is a new quetion.
Darla is building a new desk, to make sure she had made a suare corner, she measures 9 feet along one edge and 5 feet from the other edge. How long should the diagonal be between those two points, if the corner is a right angle?
Diagonal equals__?_ feet

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the Pythagorean Theorem.
Let d = diagonal length
9^2 + 5^2 = d^2
81 + 25 = d^2
106 = d^2
sqrt[106] = d
10.29563014 = d
If we round off to the nearest tenths, we get 10.3 feet = d.
