The population of a certain geographic region is approximately 135 million and
grows continuously at a relative growth rate of 1.87%.
What will the population be in 6 years? Compute the answer to three significant digits
:
Change the growth rate to a decimal; 1 + .0187 = 1.0187
Let P = population (in millions) in 6 yrs
P = 135*1.0187^6
Using a calc
P = 150.873 million in 6 yrs
