Let x & x+2 be the 2 even numbers.
(x+2)/2-2x/5=5 find the LCD (10).
[5(x+2)-2*2x]/2*5=5
[5x+10-4x]/10=5combinwe like terms.
x+10/10=5 cross multiply.
x+10=5*10
x+10=50
x=50-10
x=40 ans for the smaller number.
40+2=42 ans for the larger number.
Proof:
42/2-2*40/5=5
21-80/5=5
20-16=5
5=5
