Question 309976: The cost of renting a bus for a class trip is x dollars. Originally, N students were to share the cost equally, but 4 students decided not to go. How much more will it now cost each student to rent the bus?
A x/4
B x/(n-4)
c (x/n-4)–(x/n)
d (x/n)–(x/n-4)
e (x/n) – (x/4)

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
cost for the bus = $ x
number of students = N
Cost per student = x/N
.
4 backed out.
total students now = N-4
cost per head = x/ N-4
Difference = x/ N-4 - x/N
This is the increase in cost
