Question 30127: What volume, in millilitres, of a 60% hydrochloric acid solution must be added to 100mL of a 30% hydrochloric acid solution to make a 36% hydrochloric acid solution?
Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
100 X .3 + .6 X = .36 (100 + X)
30 + .6X = 36 +.36X
.6X - .36X = 36 - 30
.24X = 6
X = 25 ml of 60% hydrochloric acid must be added to 100 ml of 30% acid to get a 36% solution.
