Question 291250: A triangular lake-front lot has a perimeter of 1900 feet. One side is 200 feet longer than the shortest side, while the third side is 500 feet longer than the shortest side. Find the lengths of all three sides.
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
200+x+500+x+x=1,900
3x=1,900-200-500
3x=1,200
x=1.200/3
x=400 ft. for the shortest side.
400+200=600 for the second side.
400+500=900 ft. for the third side.
Proof:
400+600+900=1,900
1,900=1,900
