Question 278021: This is a long variation word problem. I think that I have part A and B right, but I'm not sure how to do part C. I'd love to compare my answers on part A and B, and get help with how to do part C.
In a community in California, the electricity generated by windmills hourly (in watt-hours) is directly proportional to the cube of the wind speed (in miles per hour). When the wind speed is 10 mph a windmill generates electricity at a rate of 15 watt-hours.
A) Find a variation formula with k to the nearest thousandth that would describe this information. Then, use the formula to complete the table and round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
B) Use the formula to find the wind speed if the electricity is 200 watt-hours.
C)The windmill described above is in a field that contains 40 windmills with the same variation formula. If the average wind speeds for a five day period were 5 mph, 9 mph, 2 mph, 11 mph, and 15 mph, find the total electricity generated for the entire wind field each day, then the total for the 5 day sample. Round each answer to the nearest tenth.
