The depth of the lake in fathoms is 120 fathoms
Now to find the depth of the lake in feet
1 fathom = 6 ft
Therefore 120 fathoms = 120X6 feet = 720 feet
Answer: The depth of the lake is 720 feet
Verification:
Our answer is the depth of the lake is 720 feet
= (120X6) feet
= (120)X(6 feet)
= 120 fathoms which is correct.
Real life example:
Your dad gives 120 dollars to buy chocolates for your friends.
And he tells you of a dollar store that sells a pack of 6 chocolates for 1 dollar.
If you pay 1$ at the store you would get 6 chocolates.
Therefore with 120 $ you will be able to buy (120X6) = 720 chocolates of course, is n't it?

Come home and check the total number of packs.
