Question 269373: By counting very quickly you notice that your car tire makes 672 revolutions in one mile. What is the radius of the tire rounded to the nearest inch?
(1) 14 (2) 15 (3) 16 (4) 17 (5) None of the above

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let the diameterof the tire be x
for one revolution it covers a distance of pi*d inches
for 672 revolutions it will make 672*pi*d inches
63360 inches=672 *22/7 *d
d= 63360*7 / 22 *672
d=30 inches
so radius = 15 inches
