Question 268870: A student in an algebra class has test scores 65, 92, 61, and 94. What score on the next test will raise the student's average to 80?
Answer by vksarvepalli(154)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let the score in the next test be x
so for the average to be 80
(65+92+61+94+x)/5 = 80
=> 312+x=400
=> x=88
so the student should get 88 in the next test to have his average 80
