Answer by palanisamy(496)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the length of the first piece be x feet.
Then the length of the second piece = 2x+5
And the length of the thirs piece = (2x+5)-7=2x-2
Total length is x+2x+5+2x-2 = 130
5x+3 = 130
5x = 130-3
x = 127/5
x = 25.4 feet
The length of the first piece = 25.4 feet.
Then the length of the second piece = 2x+5 = 2*25.4+5 = 55.8 feet
And the length of the thirs piece = 2x-2 = 2*25.4-2 = 48.8 feet
