Ans: (7/8)(3/4) = 21/32 of the floor has been completed.

The area to be carpeted is length * width=L*W
By lunch time
7/8*L*3/4*W is finished.
21/32 LW is finished
so 21/32 of the floor has been completed. we are asked for the fraction.
