Question 257641: A man left home with $240. While out, he purchased $24 worth of lottery tickets. He got his money back plus winnings of $48. He spent 25 percent of his winnings at a restaurant and 50 percent of his winnings for a taxi ride home. How much did he have when he returned home?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
he starts off with 240 dollars.
he spends 24 dollars on lottery tickets.
he wins 48 dollars plus he gets his 24 dollars back.
he uses 25% of the winnings at a restaurant = 12.00
he uses 50% of the winnings for a taxi ride home = 24.00
this means that he kept 25% of the winnings = 12.00
he returns home with 240 + 12 = 252.00
