Question 257632: Sara has a bag with 10 red marbles and 12 white marbles. When she draws out a red marble, she puts the marble back and adds 5 more red marbles. When she draws out a white marble, she puts the marble back and adds 3 more white marbles. After how many rounds of draws, replacements, and additions will the bag contain exactly 43 marbles?
Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
43=10+5x+12+3y
43=22+5x+3y
21=5x+3y
x=3 y=2
2 draws of white and 3 draws of red
or just 7 draws of white and zero red draws
21-5x=3y
7-5/3x=y
