Question 257439: If the money in my pocket was divided equally among the students in my room,
each would receive $1.47. If two more students arrived, each student would then

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1.47x=1.05(x+2)
1.47x=1.05x+2.10
1.47x-1.05x=2.10
.42x=2.10
x=2.10/.42
x=5 number of original students.
Proof:
1.47*5=1.05(5+2)
7.35=1.05*7
7.35=7.35 amount of money in your pocket.
