x+y=16 or x=16-y
xy=38
(16-y)y=38
16y-y^2=38
-y^2+16y-38=0
y^2-16y+38=0

y=(16+-sqrt[16^2-4*1*38])/2*1
y=(16+-sqrt[256-152])/2
y=(16+-sqrt104)/2
y=(16+-10.2)/2
y=(16+10.2)/2
y=26.2/2
y=13.1 ans.
y=(16-10.2)/2
y=5.8/2
y=2.9 ans.
proof:
13.1+2.9=16
16=16
13.1*2.9=38
