You can put this solution on YOUR website!
250 pair of two different shoe types were sold. One sold for 75.50 and the other sold for 89.95. The receipts totaled 20,031 dollars. How many of each type were sold?
Let x be the number of shoes of type one. Then the number of shoes of the second type must be 250 - x.
Total sales = (number of pairs of type one* 89.95) + (number of pairs of type two * 75.50)
So we have:
20,031 = (x*89.95) + ((250-x)* 75.50)
Then solve for x and 250-x
