Question 242456: How many watches purchased at 3 for $20 and sold at 4 for $30 are required to
make a profit of $40?

Well profit = selling price - cost price

Cost price per watch = $20/3 = $6.66
selling price per watch = $30/4 = $7.5
Difference is 5/6 per watch (30/4) - (20/3)
So to make a profit of $40 we would need to sell $40/(5/6) = watch number
= 48 watches.
