Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You started with 1000 bacteria and then doubled every hour
Between 6AM and 10AM, there are 4 hours
Let n = number of bacteria
Let h = number of hours passed
At the beginning:
n = 1000
h = 1 , n = 2000
h = 2 , n = 4000
h = 3 , n = 8000
h = 4 , n = 16000
so, after 4 hours, there are 16000 bacteria.
