Question 237224: Kris spikes his hair using gel. If he uses 4 mL of gel every day for 20 days and 3 mL every day after that, how many days total will it take him to empty a 128 mL tube of gel?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In 20 days, he will use 4 * 20 = 80mL of gel.
128 - 80 = 48 mL of gel is left.
48 / 3 = 16
In 16 days he will use up 48 mL of gel.
The total number of days to exhaust the supply of gel would be 20 + 16 = 36
gel runs out after 36 days.
20*4 + 16*3 = 80 + 48 = 128
