The foundation of a rectangular building has a length four times the width and it has a perimeter of 360 feet. find the dimensions of the building.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let the width be "w":
---
Then length = "4w".
=============================
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
360 = 2(4w+w)
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
180 = 5w
w = 36 feet (width)
length = 4w = 144 feet (length)
