Can you please help me figure out the following problem:
A total of 37,451 Ph.D.’s were awarded in 1991. Out of the 1164 Ph.D.’s in business and management, 292 were earned by women. Women earned 13,782 Ph.D.’s. How many men earned Ph. D’s in business and management?
I think the answer is 872. But I might be wrong. I have been up all night working on math and I'm getting a little fuzzy:)

I'm inclined to agree with you.

Number of total doctorates = 37451
Number of total doctorates earned by women = 13782
Number of total doctorates in business and management = 1164
Number of total doctorates in business and management earned by women = 292

Number of total doctorates in business and management earned by men = 1164 - 292 = 872.

The rest of those statements had nothing to do with it as far as I can tell.
