First, plot the point (-6,3).




Now recall that the xy plane is divided into 4 quadrants in which the first quadrant is in the upper right corner, the second is in the upper left, and it continues clockwise from here. In other words, we have

So comparing the two images, we see that the point (-6,3) is in the second quadrant.

(-6, 3) is in the II quadrant.



Notice the correct spelling of 'quadrant' not 'quadrent'. Yes, this is mathematics, but we still have to communicate, so spelling, grammar, punctuation , and all of the other niceties of English written communications count.
