Four people buy a large pizza of (X) pieces. If they split it evenly, how many pieces will each eat?
My question to this is not the answer=x/4, but why can't it be 4/x?
------------------
There are x pieces. Each person has 1/4, that's x/4.
------
Example: 12 pieces
Each person has 3 pieces, = 12/4. 4/12 is 1/3 of a piece.

Would you agree that if the pizza had been cut into 12 equal-sized pieces and then divided evenly among four people, that each person would get three pieces?
You get the answer to this by dividing the number of pieces (12) by the number of people (4):
If the number of pieces into which the pizza has been divided is not known (x) and there are four people sharing the pizza, then each person would get:
The number of pieces into which the pizza has been cut divided by the number of people sharing the pizza.
