Question 212852: I was wondering how I would punch this into the calculator to find the answer? Please help!
Solve for x. Round to the nearest ten-thousandth.
log (225x2) = 3.456

Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
do you mean log(225 x^2) = 3.456 ...

first, divide by 2 ___ this means taking the square root of the quantity in the log parentheses

log(15 x) = 1.728

next, take the antilog or inverse log or log^-1 ___ different calculators have different keys

15 x = 10^1.728 = 53.456436...

next, divide by 15 ___ x = 3.5638

because the x is squared in the original equation, -3.5638 is also a solution
