Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
D=RT
T=1500/R
1500=(R-10)(T+5)
1500=(R-10)(1500/R+5)
1500=1500-15000/R+5R-50
0=-15000/R+5R-50
(-15000+5R*R)/R=50
-15000+5R^2=50R
-15000+5R^2-50R=0
5R^2-50R-15000=0
5(R^2-10R-3000)=0
5(R-60)(R+50)=0
R-60=0
R=60 MPH. FOR THE TRIP TO CALIFORNIA.
1500/60=25 HOURS FOR THE TRIP TO CALIFORNIA.
1500=(60-10)(25+5)
1500=50*30
1500=1500
