you and a friend share the driving on a 300 mile road trip. your friend drives for 3 hours at an average speed of 52mph. its now your turn. how fast must you drive for the remainder of the trip if you want to reach your hotel in 3 more hours?
-----------------------------------
1st 3 hr. DATA:
distance = rt = 52*3 = 156 miles
---------------------------------------
Distance remaining: 300-156 = 144 miles
--------------------------------------
Rate to drive 144 miles in 3 hrs.
144/3 = 48 mph
