1]Sam, Angela and Beth can finish a piece of work in 16, 24 and 48 days. However, there is another person Ryan who is a “Demolition Man” and he can undo the entire work in 12 days. Sam and Angela work on the first day, Angela and Beth on the second, Beth and Sam on the third and keep working in this order, and Ryan works on every fourth day. How long would it take them to finish the entire job?

With the given information, you can see that
Sam can do 
of the job in one day,
Angela can do 
of the job in one day,
Beth can do 
of the job in one day, and
Ryan can do 
of the job in one day.
The first day, Sam and Angela do:
of the whole job.
Then next day, Angela and Beth do:
of the whole job.
Which, added to the previous days work:
of the job completed by the end of the 2nd day.
Continuing:
Beth and Sam manage:
of the whole job.
And then
of the job completed by the end of the 3rd day.
Ryan by himself:
of the whole job.
And then
of the job completed by the end of the 4rd day.
But 
, so in one 4-day cycle, one-third of the entire job is complete. Hence it will take three 4-day cycles, or 12 days to complete the job.
