Question 200541: how would set this problem up useing polynomials:The Jurassic Zoo charges $28.00 for each adult admission and $12.00 for each child. The total bill for 454 people from a school trip was $3860.00. How many adults and how many children went to the zoo?
this is what I have so far

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You're off to a great start. You just need to solve the second equation to find "c" and then use that value to find "a"
Start with the given equation.
Distribute.
Combine like terms on the left side.
Subtract from both sides.
Combine like terms on the right side.
Divide both sides by to isolate .
Reduce.
Divide.
Since you cannot have 0.25 of a person, this means that there's a typo somewhere in the problem.
So double check the problem.
