I have been studying this problem for hours and cannot figure out how to set it up. I will be grateful to anyone willing to explain the whys and hows to resolving this question. Thanks in advance.
Two teams had to set 560 fence posts. One of the teams only set 3/4 as many posts as the other, how many posts did the faster team set.

total posts:560
one team set up 3/4 of the other team
let the faster team set up x number of posts
then the other team setup (3/4)of x
we know that both of these add up to 560

so we get,
x+(3/4)x=560

((4+3)/4)x=560
(7/4)x=560
x=(560*4)/7
x=2240/7
x=320

so the faster team set up 320 posts
