The function f(x) =70 square root x models the number of calories per day, f(x), a person needs to maintain life in terms of the person's weight, x, in kilograms.
How many calories does a person who weighs 51 kilograms (approxmiately 112.3 pounds) need to maintain life?
Round to the nearest whole number.

I am not sure that I understand the problem, but let me give it a try.

f(x) = 70 times square root of x where f(x)=calories need and x=weight in kilograms.

f(x) = 70 times (square root of 51) = 70 times (7.14) = 499.89 = 500 calories
