this problem is quite simple, it just takes some counting if you draw a table or map like i did when doing the problem it would be much easier, in the problem it tells you which floors are the very top and bottom. and both ways it is 6 from the elevator you must go up 6 to get the the top and down 6 to get to the bottom, this puts the mail room on the 7th floor
