Today he rode at 16 mph to get to his friends house, and then he rode at a rate of 12 mph to get home. How much longer did it take him to get home than to get to his friends house?
Answer by Mathtut(3670)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
16*(1/2)=8.......8=16t--->t=1/2 hr-->30 min
:
so 8 is the constant of variation
:
12*t=8
:
t=8/12=2/3 hr--->40 minutes
:
so it took 10 more minutes to get home from his friends house
