Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A six pack of soda costs $1.93.
Average price = 193/6 = 32.17 cents per can
------------------------------------------------
A carton of 24 cans cost $6.70.
Average price = 670/24 = 27.92 cents per can
---------------------------------------------------
How much will be saved by purchasing the carton rather than 4 individual six packs?
If you are purchasing "x" cans you will save (32-17-27.92)x = 4.25 cents per can
---------------------------------------------------------------------
how do I write this in an algebraic equation
Savings = 4.25x for x cans.
S(x) = 4.25x cents for x cans
---------------------------------------------------------------------
