Question 175577: Hi I missed this question at an employment exam. I would like to see how you would solve this: thanks!
A clock was exactly at 12 noon on a Saturday. The next morning, at 12 noon, the clock was already late by two minutes. How many seconds did it lose in a 30 minute time period?

.
From 12 noon to 12 noon the next day -- 24 hours has expired.
Or, 48 30-minute periods
.
2 minutes = 2(60) = 120 seconds
.
that's
120 seconds per 48 30-minute period
.
In a single 30-minute period:
120/48 = 2.5 seconds
.
Therefore,
2.5 seconds lost per 30-minute period.
