Write an equation for the line going through the points (3,2) and (-2,4)
---------------------
Find the slope m.
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m = (2-4)/(3+2) = -2/5
Use either point:
y-y1 = m*(x-x1)
y-2 = (-2/5)*(x-3) = (-2x/5)x + 6/5
y = (-2/5)x + 16/5 (slope intercept form)
2x + 5y = 16 (standard form)
