A boat travels due East for a distance of 15 miles. It then travels due North for a distance 0f 20 miles, at which point it drops anchor. How many miles is the boat from its starting point?
-------------
Draw the picture and use Pythagoras to find the distance:
d = sqrt(15^2 + 20^2)
d = sqrt(625) = 25 miles
