Answer by mangopeeler07(462)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length=x+40
width=x

2(x+40)+2(x)=240

Distribute
2x+80+2x=240

Combine like terms
4x+80=240

Subtract 80
4x=160

Divide by 4
x=40

width=40
length=80
