Question 148150: Hello, it's problem solving time and I am needing a little help. Please
Two motorcycles travel toward each other from cities that are about 320km apart at rates of 95 km/hr and 65 km/hr. They started at the same time. In how many hours will they meet?
Thanks for any help,
Paula
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since they're approaching, their relative speed (to each other) is the sum of their speeds with respect to the Earth. 65 + 95 = 160kph
They start 320 km apart
T = 320/160
T = 2 hours.
