picturing a circular track makes things easier

the slow car goes 360� in 120 sec or 3� per sec

the fast car goes 360� in 90 sec or 4� per sec

every second the cars are traveling, the fast car gains 1�
__ when the fast car has gained 360� (in 360 sec) the cars will pass again

so the cars pass every 360 sec or 6 min
