Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
" x varies directly as the square of s"
__ "How does x change when s is doubled?" __ (2s)^2=4s^2 __ so doubling s quadruples x
"inversly as t" __ x changes in the opposite way of t __ t larger, x smaller and vice versa
__ so doubling t, halves x
"When both s and t are doubled?" __ quadrupled by s and halved by t __ 4*(1/2)=2, so x is doubled
