a. What is the area of the pool?
b. What is the width of the walkway?

6*10=60 SQUARE METERS IS THE AREA OF THE POOL.
THE AREA OF THE WALKWAY PLUS THE WALKWAY IS 2860=120 SQUARE METERS.
(6+2X)(10+2X)=120
60+20X+12X+4X^2=120
4X^2+32X+60-120=0
4X^2+32X-60=0
4(X^2+8X-15)=0
USING THE QUADRATIC EQUATION: WE GET:
X=(-8+-SQRT[8^2-4*1*-15])/281
X=(-8+-SQRT[64+60])/2
X=(-8+-SQRT124)/2
X=(-8+-11.1355)/2
X=(-8+11.1355)/2
X=3.1355/2
X=1.568 METERS IS THE WIDTH OF THE WALKWAY.
1.568(10+2*1.568)*2+2(8+1.568)
