We can set up equations to find out what the answer is
Let x be the number of small T-shirts the gift shop ordered
So 2x is equal to the number of medium T-shirts
And 3x is equal to the number of large T-shirts
Now we know that there are 42 T-shirts in total, so
x+2x+3x = 42
now we can add the xs up
6x=42
Then divide both sides by 6
x=7
So the number of small T-shirts is 7
the number of medium T-shirts is 14
and the number of large T-shirts is 21

Answer by xFunnayxHoneyx(1)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+x+2x=42
Add common numbers
6x=42
divide 6 from 42
x=7
