Question 124970: Hi tutor,
Thanks you for helping me....
1)Bear population. To etimate the size of he bear population on the keweenam Peninsula, conservationist capture, tagged, ans reased 50 bears. One year later, a randon sample of 100 bears included only 2 tagged bears. What is the conservationist's estimate of the size of bear population?
2)Telephone lens. formula 1/f = 1/o + 1/i
Find the image distance i for an object that is 2,000,000 mm from a 250-mm telephone lens.
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1)Bear population. To etimate the size of he bear population on the keweenam Peninsula, conservationist capture, tagged, and reased 50 bears. One year later, a randon sample of 100 bears included only 2 tagged bears. What is the conservationist's estimate of the size of bear population?
Real population/captured population = tagged population /captured-tagged pop.
Real pop/50 = 100/2
Real pop = 50(100/2) - 2500
---------------------------------
2)Telephone lens. formula 1/f = 1/o + 1/i
Find the image distance i for an object that is 2,000,000 mm from a 250-mm telephoto lens.
--------
1/i = [1/f-1/o]
1/i = (o-f)/fo
i = (f*o)/(o-f)
----------------------
Question: What are f and o in your formula?
