(revised response, after the other tutor pointed out that part of my response was not right....)

40% of the seats are for children, so 60% are for adults.

60% divided in the ratio 5:7 for seats for men and women respectively means 25% of the seats are for men and 35% are for women.

The ratio of adult seats to children seats is 60:40 = 3:2.

After renovations, the number of children seats is 720; the number of adult seats is (3/2)*720 = 3*360 = 1080.

The total number of seats after the renovations is 720+1080 = 1800.

The number of men seats is 25% of the total, or 1800/4=450.

The number of women seats after the renovations is 35% of the total, or .35(1800)=630.

ANSWERS:
1080 seats for adults
630 seats for women

Hi
40% of the seats in a concert are for children. The number of seats for men and women are 5 to 7 respectively. After renovations the number of seats increased by 20%. The number of children seats are 720.
How many seats for adults after the renovations.
How many women seats after the renovations
Thanks

Let original number of seats, be S
Number of seats after renovations: 1.2S
Children's number of seats, before and after renovations: .4S and .4(1.2S) = .48S. The actual number
for this happens to be 720.
Adults' number of seats, before and after renovations: .6S and .6(1.2S) = .72S. Let the number for
this be A.
We then get the following PROPORTION:
                                                        2A = 3(720)------ Cross-multiplying
Number of adults' seats, after renovations, or
Number of women's seats, after renovations:

BTW, the other person who responded is partly WRONG!
